The Bottle People Pick Up
A sphere does something a cylinder cannot: it makes people pick the bottle up. For hair oil and face oil — categories where the ritual of application is the product — that physical moment is worth engineering. The ball body also reads premium in unboxing videos, which is where most beauty brands live now.
This program keeps the geometry strict: one sphere diameter per size, one short neck, one matched dropper system. That discipline is what makes a special shape manufacturable at wholesale tiers instead of a one-off art piece.
Special Shapes Need a Supplier Who Has Made Them Before
Sphere glass is unforgiving: wall thickness must stay even or the ball shows off-weight and off-color patches; the neck-to-ball joint decides dropper fit. These are tooling and QC questions, not design questions — and they are exactly what sampling is for. You approve wall feel, weight, pipette centering and print registration on a physical sample before production.
Because the profile is round, flat labels do not work. The decoration plan is built around curved surfaces: ring prints at the equator, small marks near the neck, or full spray finishes. We review your artwork against the actual curve at the proof stage.
Questions Importers Ask First
Is the sphere stable, or does it roll?
The ball body sits on a flattened base ground into the sphere — the bottle stands on its own on shelf and does not roll when capped. Stability on filled bottles is part of the sample check.
Can the pipette reach low fill levels?
Pipette length is cut to reach the lower curve of the ball, and draw is confirmed with your fill volume at sampling. Tell us the working fill level and we match the pipette to it.
What finishes work on a sphere?
Clear, amber and frosted glass run from stock; pearl and metallic spray finishes are matched on clear glass with a sprayed sample approval. Silk-screen ring prints are the standard branding route.
From Brief to Bulk: How SEALAND Runs It
Brief (sphere size, glass, finish, quantity) → sample with quotation → drawing and decoration proof on the curve → production against the sealed sample → export packing in individual cells. Special shapes get one extra QC gate on weight and wall evenness before packing.
Sampling, MOQ & Lead Time
MOQ starts from 500 pcs for standard shapes with standard decoration; complex coatings or custom tooling are quoted separately, and the current MOQ for your exact configuration is confirmed at quotation.
Samples: US$39 per reference set, refundable from the bulk order. Samples let you evaluate glass weight, dropper draw, color and finish in hand before you commit.
Lead time: 7–15 days for in-stock glass with standard decoration after sample approval. Custom molds, special coatings and peak-season queues are confirmed per project.
Quality Checks Before Shipment
Every order is checked against a sealed reference sample before mass production starts, and again at packing: glass color against the approved swatch, dropper fit and draw, decoration registration, and carton condition on a sampling basis. Performance targets such as draw smoothness and seal behavior are agreed on the confirmed sample — not promised from a listing photo.
